Just one week from now, the first FIBO on the North American continent will be opening its doors, and visitors can look forward to some 100 exhibitors, including industry giants such as Technogym and Miha Bodytec, as well as an extensive supporting programme. The 165 items on the programme include best practices from internationally successful studio operators, the chance to get to know the Disney universe, and an opportunity to learn more about the US market and the global fitness industry. There will also be wide-ranging presentations and training for new workouts.

CONFERENCES

The American Health & Fitness Forum (AHFF) will be making its debut one day before FIBO USA begins. The event features top international speakers, including John Treharne, founder and CEO of the Gym Group, Roger Karsten, CEO of fit20, Niclas Bonstrom from Mrs. Sporty, and Matthias Lehner, CEO and founder of Bodystreet. These and other speakers will illustrate the things that successful operators do differently. Herman Rutgers, co-founder and board member of EuropeActive, will be discussing the state of affairs in the international fitness industry, while Jon Canarick, Managing Director of North Castle Partners, details the US fitness market from an investor’s point of view. Many other presentations, including ‘Movement as medicine’, ‘The fourth industrial revolution’, and ‘Retention, retention, retention’ will be addressing pressing topics in the industry.

Conference visitors will also benefit from a unique range of input from outside the fitness industry. When it comes to creating event worlds for customers, the Disney universe is an expert, and at AHFF, Brent Centlivre, Account Manager at the Disney Institute, will be offering insight into the key elements of Disney’s success, providing new ideas for the fitness industry. Brent Centlivre has been working for the Disney Institute for 23 years now, and has already advised numerous teams and industries, including the Super Bowl team.

Women are welcome to take part in ‘Fiercely Female’, which is being organised by the Women in Fitness Association (WFA). This one-day forum features numerous women in leadership positions talking about the opportunities and challenges facing women in the fitness industry.

TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

At FIBO USA, trainers are spoilt for choice: be it Zumba, Spartan, Yoga, SoulBody Barre or Piloxing, instructors will be offering everything from one-hour classes to full-day intensive training courses. This means that valuable certificates can be earned during a trade show visit. In the ‘ACE Behaviour Change Workshop’ being put on by the American Council on Exercise, the primary focus is on establishing a positive and productive customer-coach relationship,

The FIBO FITPASS is just the ticket for anyone looking to keep fit in the early morning hours. Workshops and presentation topics run the gamut from business and management insights, behaviour modification and new training concepts and technologies all the way to nutrition and lifestyle.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The FIBO visit also offers countless additional events on every day of the trade show, such as the Ultimate Freestyle Callisthenics Championships. Training, competitions and product launches will be taking place on multiple stages in the exhibition hall with an array of highlights that includes presentations on the topic of occupational health management, marketing via social media and body awareness. Multiple exhibitors will be giving demonstrations of new workouts, including AcroYoga, BoomBoxing, F45 Training, Hyrox, Piloxing, Pound, Spartan, The Warrior® Workout and Zumba.

EXHIBITORS

Some 100 exhibitors will be utilising FIBO USA to present their products and services to the American market, many of them for the first time. Manufacturers of training equipment make up the largest exhibitor group, and industry giant Technogym is one of those taking part in the debut event.
